Beaubears Intrepretive Center

Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre comprises a 1000 sq.ft. addition to an existing information building at Bi-Centennial Park in Nelson-Miramichi. The new consolidated facility creates a backdrop to house interpretive displays which tell the unique history, and impact of First Nation, Acadian and Loyalist cultures, on this island and surrounding area. The building was designed using a heavy timber frame structure with joinery reminiscent of the shipbuilding era. DFS Inc. worked in conjunction with the Miramichi Open River Museum and The Friends of Beaubears Committee on this project.
