Saint Patrick's Basilica Restoration

Saint Patrick's Basilica is a magnificent gothic revival building. The church was built to serve the needs of the Irish immigrants who had come to Montreal due to the famine in Ireland. The construction began in 1843, and the first mass was celebrated on Saint Patrick's Day in 1847. The Basilica was designated a Historical Monument by the Government of Quebec and was named a National Historic Site of Canada. The project encompassed the complete restoration of the main fa├žade including all masonry, windows and the statue of Saint Patrick.
